There are no two ways about it. Omega 3 fish oil is one of the best investments you can make in your health. Omega 3 fats play a very important role in the proper functioning of our body and protecting us from a number of life threatening diseases like cancer and heart diseases. Let’s take a look at how you can make them work for you.

If you go looking for omega 3 fish oil in the market, you will be drowned in a sea of choices. There is an EPA oil, DHA oil, fortified fish oil, fish oil for kids, fish oil for women, Norwegian oil and who knows what else.

How do you choose one?

To know how to make the right choice, you first need to dig a bit deeper into the nature of these oils. Then you can make an informed decision about the kind of oil that is right for your and your family’s health.

Let’s get one thing straight right away. There is no need for separate oils for you, your spouse and your kids. Fish oil is fish oil. Its ingredients and its benefits remain the same – they do not vary depending on the user’s age or sex.

So you only need to find one good oil and then the whole family can use it.

The health benefits attributed to fish oil are actually because of the two omega 3 fats in it – DHA and EPA.

Traditionally, EPA has been thought to be the more important one of these two. This is the reason many oils in the market focus on EPA and have it as the primary ingredient.

Fact is – latest research has proven that DHA is much more beneficial than EPA. Also, our body can internally convert DHA into EPA if needed. The reverse process is not possible though.

Both these factors clearly indicate that the oil you choose should have DHA as the primary ingredient, with levels around 250 mg per serving. And EPA levels should be enough at about 120 mg.

Do not compromise on this.

Secondly, the omega 3 fish oil should have been properly refined. This is necessary to ensure any contaminants that the fish may have ingested from the ocean, have been removed from the oil.

Now it’s time to start putting this information to action and find out a good, DHA rich omega 3 fish oil. Visit my website for more information on how to make the right choice.

A number of businesses across the UK are taking advantage of a fantastic service to brighten up their workplaces. Fish tank rental services are becoming a popular feature due to their hassle-free nature and calming affects on those around it.

Aqualease are one such company who offers a fish tank rental service. Aqualease’s fish tank rentals offer the ultimate statement in style and sophistication for the workplace. The reason fish tank rental services are becoming more popular than buying a fish tank or aquarium is that a number of other services are included in the fish tank rental price.

These fish tank services include installation of the fish tank and introduction of the fish themselves. That might seem as though anybody can do that, but by introducing fish to the wrong environment can result in having no fish. After the installation, each month one of Aqualease’s fish tank service experts will visit your premises to clean and maintain the fish tank as well as carry out any servicing that may be required. As well as all that, you will also be supplied with a month’s worth of fish food.

Aqualease have a number of rental fish tanks to choose from including column fish tanks and cabinet style fish tanks, each with their own advantages.

Column fish tanks are a great solution to small spaces, as they are upright fish tanks they have more space vertically rather than horizontally. Although they take up a very small amount of space, they provide a large viewing area as they are very tall fish tanks which can be placed neatly in the corner of a room, or right in the middle as an attention-grabbing centrepiece.

Cabinet fish tanks can do great things for your office decor. Like the column fish tanks, they are great if space is limited as they have storage space built into them which is perfect for documents, stationary or anything you have that needs to be stored.

One of the popular reasons for a business subscribing to a fish tank rental service is that watching fish in a fish tank has calming qualities that lowers the blood pressure and reduces stress, which is a great help in a business environment.

If you’re interested in Aqualease’s fish tank rental services why not give them a call and take their 30 day trial to see if your workplace can benefit from a rental fish tank.

Swedish scientists who conducted research into the dietary habits of ninety thousand women have concluded that there is a definite link between the amount of oily fish eaten and a reduce occurrence of renal cancer.

An initial questionnaire was sent to ninety thousand women and then followed up ten years later. The study examined the amount of oily fish eaten. The definition of such fish included salmon, raw herring, sardines and mackerel.

It was found that eating at least one portion of these fish per week reduced the occurrence of renal cancer by seventy four percent when compared to those who ate no oily fish. This was attributed to the high content of Omega 3 fatty acids and vitamin D in these oily fish.

So your beta fish won’t eat?

It may be a sign of an illness.

Below are some of the most common illnesses of which one of the symptoms is that your beta fish won’t eat:

- Fungal infection – If you can see white patches all over its body and head, and your fish is generally inactive, resting at the bottom of the tank, barely showing interest in food, then it may have a fungal infection.

- Rotting tail / rotting fin – If your fish’s fins or tail show signs of deterioration and its body is lackluster, pale and your fish isn’t eating, your fish may be sick.

- Ick – Beware that sometimes live frozen foods may contain live parasites. These parasites can infect the fish, causing it to break out with itchy dots all over its body, head, and even the eyes. If your fish is just not paying attention to its food, then you may have to treat your beta fish for parasites.

- Popeye -If your fish’s eyeballs are bulging out of their sockets, it is due to bacterial infection from dirty water. Popeye is generally a symptom of more serious internal problems. Your fish may not have much of an appetite and thus your fish won’t eat.

- Dropsy – If your fish’s scales are standing upright, looking like a pine cone, then your fish has a bacterial infection, transmitted typically through consumption of live worms. Your beta fish won’t eat, most likely, under these circumstances.

You have rescued your betta’s life from the pet store’s tiny cup. Now learn how to make your betta into the most comfortable, safe, and cared-for fish in the world. If you are a true betta fish lover or animal enthusiast in general, then you should know that taking care of betta fish involves a great deal more than just doing the bare minimum, which is to change its water and feed it. There is a lot more involved in properly caring for your fish, such as water quality, water temperature, the nature of the fish’s habitat in terms of volume of space, rocks, plants, lighting conditions, whether or not you wish to breed your fish, and your fish’s social interactions with other fish versus being kept in isolation. If you want to keep your fish healthy, beautiful, active, energetic, and alive for as long as possible, then you have to be willing to go the extra mile in order to provide a better quality of life for your fish. And it all starts with a little bit of education.

Taking care of betta fish can truly be an extremely rewarding experience, so why not go the extra mile and learn everything that there is to know about the proper care, feeding, and nurturing of our little marine friends, the betta splendens (otherwise known as siamese fighting fish)?

Who else wants a beautiful, healthy betta fish, swimming happily in a stunning tank, without having to spend a bundle or constantly worry about your betta’s health?

How To Avoid Murdering Your Goldfish, Again

Goldfish make absolutely wonderful pets for young children because they are visually dynamic and simple to care for. While goldfish are fairly easy to care for, they are fragile fish and will perish if they aren’t given the proper care from their owners. Follow my steps and you’ll be on your way to not murdering your goldfish this time around.

  • Fish you need to purchase a fish bowl. It doesn’t need to be one of those expensive, fancy fish tanks, but it should be a high quality bowl. When cleaning this fish bowl, make sure not to use toxic cleaners like Windex or all-purpose cleaners that contain bleach. Also avoid using dish soap as this will probably result in the death of your goldfish.
  • When cleaning the inside of your fish’s home, do not use chlorine. It will scar the lunges of your fish and make it incredibly difficult for them to breath or it will likely just kill them right away.
  • Do not overload your fish bowl with too many gold fish. You may not be aware of this, but fish require oxygen and if you throw a bunch of them in the same tank they will no doubt be gasping for air. There shouldn’t be more than one goldfish per gallon of water; this number also depends on the size of the goldfish you own as well. Larger goldfish require much more space.
  • Do not heat your fish tank. Goldfish thrive in temperatures below 70 degrees and they can even handle extremely gold water as long as it is a gradual shift downwards.
  • Feed your goldfish goldfish food and be mindful of overfeeding. Your goldfish should be able to eat all of the food you give it within three minutes, anything left over means that you’ve fed it too much. Overfeeding will pollute the water of your fish tank and it will allow for bacterial growth which will steal valuable oxygen from your fish.
  • Do not put pennies in the fish tank. I’m not sure why this would seem like a good idea in the first place, but if you or your child feels the urge to drop a Lincoln in the pool, you’re going to have to use some self-control. A copper penny will most certainly kill your fish.
